Academic Task Force After-School Homework Help & Academic Support for Years 7, 8 & 9 students is led by qualified and experienced teachers. They all have a sound knowledge of the school curriculum and success in improving students’ school achievement.
Academic Group’s after-school Homework Help and Academic Support classes are designed for Year 7, 8 and 9 students who need extra guidance, confidence and structure in English and Maths. Classes are held after school at our Applecross Office and are taught in small groups by qualified teachers, ensuring personalised attention and meaningful progress.
Who are these classes for?
- Students who require extra support with their homework
- Students who want to build confidence and improve classroom performance
- Students who require EAL/EALD support
- Students who need support with spelling, grammar and creative writing
- Students who benefit from small, structured learning environments
Students will be in a class of one to a maximum of 10 students meaning they will receive targeted and individual support help to ensure they develop their skills and understanding in their subject each term.
Parents will receive feedback during the term from the tuition teacher on the work covered in the class and the outcomes achieved by your child.
Maths sessions: An experienced, qualified and engaging Maths teacher will help students understand and work through Maths problems. The teacher will review essential Maths skills and students will receive individual attention for your specific needs. The teacher will provide extra work for those who wish to extend themselves or require additional practise.
English sessions: Each week an experienced and motivating English teacher will focus on a specific section of the curriculum, such as grammar and punctuation, essay writing or reading comprehension. Strategies will be provided and students will practise their skills in the class and receive individual help from the teacher.
